According to the research carried out by BAT in October 2001 including 1500 respondents, Ho³owczyc is recognized by 52% of the Polish population. According to other surveys he has always been placed amongst the 10 most popular Poles.
Other researches done over recent years reflect a certain phenomenon - a high level of popularity of Krzysztof Ho³owczyc which has not decreased for many years now.
When asked: “Name a professional driver you know” 52% of the respondents mentioned Krzysztof Ho³owczyc, thus giving him a 17 % lead over the four time Formula 1 Champion Michael Schumacher, who took second place in the sounding. When the question: “Which motorsport driver is your favourite?” was asked, the respondents put Ho³owczyc in the first place again. Not surprisingly Krzysztof Ho³owczyc took the first place in another survey where most respondents chose him as a favourite driver for a co-drive (great perspectives for organising a co-drive in terms of the advertising effect!).
The popularity of Krzysztof Ho³owczyc is manifested during each rally, when his service area is filled with the biggest crowds and his performance on the special stages is rewarded with the greatest applause. Fame of Ho³owczyc has also spread abroad, during the coverage of Polish Rally broadcast by German DSF sports channel, he was described as “Publikumsmagnet” meaning the “crowd-gatherer”. Two pictures of Ho³owczyc's rally car were published in 2000/2001 edition of Martin Holms' “World Rallying”, presenting mostly works drivers.
He was the only Polish driver to be presented in this publication.
For the purpose of advertising or charity events (such as Wielka Orkiestra Œwi¹tecznej Pomocy) the name Krzysztof Ho³owczyc always guarantees attracting a large public. It is the name which has been included in the famous book of elite “Who is Who”.
